No! While you certainly can do your own sketch, you don’t need to because a sketch is provided with every watercolor project.

If you don't have the exact paper, paints, brushes, etc - THAT'S OK!
Just use what you have and pick colors that are close. We recommend following the 30 Days to Watercolor tutorial to help you understand how to mix different colors to get the color you need.
Just invest in good quality paper (we give recommendations in this class) and one or two nice brushes (recommendations also given) and you’ll be all set!
No problem at all – we want you to be totally happy with your Watercolor Mastery experience. And if the program is not for you, then we make it easy to reverse course.
If you signed up for the Monthly or Yearly plan you can cancel your membership with a single click under your billing page (My Account > Billing > Subscriptions > Cancel) and never be charged again.

Keep in mind, however, that if you DO decide to enter your work in competitions, it is sometimes a requirement that you use only your own original reference images.

This means you can easily watch (and rewatch) them at your own pace and convenience.
You can download the course resources (printable sketches, reference photos, .pdf files, etc.) from the site, but you cannot download the video lessons to your computer.
